Flexibility and Control for Sensitive Data With Multi-layered Encryption

Disk Encryption

Granular encryption control enhances full disk protection

The Problem

Full-disk encryption is an acknowledged best practice when it comes to protecting data-at-rest. Full-disk encryption ensures that all data on a hard drive gets encrypted. However, full-disk encryption is primarily designed to mitigate the risks from external sources – not from trusted internal sources that have authenticated to that disk.

The Solution

Base protection on files, folders and partitions
SecureDoc extends protection beyond full disk encryption with Container Encryption and File/Folder Encryption to securely control access to sensitive data in a more granular fashion.

SecureDoc policies can define the individual access rights for working groups or individual users. These access rights are then published across the SecureDoc user profiles and key files. In this way, authorized users with the appropriate rights can read the information stored in the encrypted files, folders and containers. Unauthorized users will be unable to access the data.
